Last month, I started a Summer Story series and so far here are some of the things I’ve being enjoying. (please check out My Dog’s Corner to see The Bustey’s Summer Story)
I bought these pastel hair holders and I’m using them to style my hair with a relaxed Summer vibe! They’re fun and helps keep my hair neat while adding a little pizzazz as I run errands, take walks on the boardwalk, and walk my dog. Also, I do not like spending extra time each day styling my hair. Pic on the left was the result of Mom braiding my hair at bedtime, which took me back to my childhood days. On a Sunday afternoon, we also took turns massaging each others scalp with a conditioning oil, while lying on Mom’s bed; that was a relaxing experience and one Mom enjoyed a lot.
Top left is my Mom and I being photographed by a local photographer while we attended a Summer evening concert at the beach. On the right, we briefly rest during one of our frequent walks in the park.
Above are my Mom and sister, Shazmin, making phoulourie, an Indian appetizer served with tamarind chutney and used often after prayer meetings. Later that evening, we joined other family members and celebrated Mom’s oldest sister’s 87th birthday via Zoom. That was a great success!!
This is a plant hanging in my living room that expels these drops of water from the most distal leaf every morning. It has become a private joy for me each morning as I sit right under it drinking my coffee and being amazed by its formation.
Attending a wedding in Honolulu, Hawaii via livestream. I once lived on this beautiful island.
I love spending time with this amazing dog, Bustey; he takes me down paths I would never otherwise go, along with endless experiences meeting other dogs and their families. Ironically, that’s exactly what Mentors do; take their Mentees down new paths in order to give them the experiences and knowledge they will need to arrive at their chosen endpoint.
One more to come in this Summer Series…
